Furniture!
« on: April 27, 2010, 04:10:10 PM »
Hi,

We are trying to source a small sideboard and nice ornate lamp table - does anyone have any ideas where we could look in Kalkan?

We have tried Kelebek but nothing took our fancy as it was mainly MDF style - also flicked through Ikea but again not really found anything.

Ideally something made from wood with nice metal legs (so we can mop under it!)

Cheers :)

Hi there, not sure if anything here is to your taste but try the following websites to see if they work for you? No expert, I've just been looking round myself recently. Clearly, everthing is down to personal choice but hopefully they may help. I've sent the links for table lamps but do search the sites, they may also have furniture too!

Fingers crossed........ PS - both in Turkish, just ask google toolbar to translate and it should!!!

...is it all mouseproof though?  ;)

Jon, we bought our black wrought iron beds and dressing tables from Zekis on the Kalamar Road and everything was made to our spec so if you wanted wrought iron furniture you could try there.

Our dressing tables are wrought iron at the bottom with a wooden top.  We got matching mirrors too.
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

we got a table & chairs made at Masif furniture, up rhe Akbel rd., pass the kitchen shop on the right hand side of the road set back a little is a carpenters shop with a showroom('ish), turn sharp right there down the track & Masif is at the end of the track. The guy Ahmet knows about wood and obviously cares about his work, he has virtually no English but we managed with some drawings and our bit of Turkish, lovely man and good prices. We will certainly use him again.

The furniture from Masif has good design features. I found several Masif Furniture in some sites, and I wanted to have a furniture from them.
