You must have caught the olive Garden on an off night, which must happen in every restaurant of course. Was it the food or the service which wasn't up to par?

mmmmmmmm.......................mouth watering at the prospect of cracking open the clay pots for the scrumptious lamb tagine at Doyum restaraunt..................... Brunch watching the world go by at the Merkez sipping fresh orange juice and eatings eggs menemen???!!!! I think???!!! Menu browsing by day..........too much choice......too many difficult decisions.........shall it be Korsan Fish Terrace tonight dear?? No lets go see Sivili at Maya...........probably the most intimate little restaraunt in Kalkan..I'm feeling romantic!!!! Hope she's still there this year...she threatens to leave the village every year but thankfully she remains!!!

Hurry up August!!!!!

Got back last night after fab 11 days. Best was Mousakka, then Sofra, Akin Oz Adana and Trio. After going to Ibo kebab in Feb when it was fab, we went again last week and were very disappointed as the food was cold. Doy Doy did an amazing peppered steak and Kaya did the usual nicely priced dinner. Went to the Marina for a drink as the new sofas looked tempting and charged 7.5L for a very very small milkshake (my kids are small but not that small) what a rip off wont be going there again.
All in all fab food as usual although I have noticed the prices have creeped up from last year.

Just come back from 6th trip to Kalkan! Love the Kaptan (great food, music, view) Sofra (Thurs with classical guitarist v. nice) Olive Garden to name just three.
Also love Cafe del Mare and looking forward to spending some time at the new Cafe Lyon.

Aubergine. They never fail to impress. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the decor, the lovely comfy sofas. They have defiantely got it right. 100%. ooh I wish I could just click my fingers and be there right NOW!

We weren't planning on returning to Kalkan this year but as we've postponed our planned USA trip until spring 2011, it looks like we'll be back this year after all. Just need to get booking...

Can't wait to go back to Fez, Baharat and Doy Doy. They were the definite highlights last year. And Akin for cheap and cheerful lunchtime salads and pizzas!

We had an excellent meal last night at the new IBO Kebap - If anything it was a feast of food and 3 bottles efes for just 55 lira! Well worth a trip!

We also had a great Pizza at Fotos, never tried there before and now wish we tried it before!

Well, it has to be Adem's on the road to KAS. In fact, I rang him this afternoon, just to make sure he was preparing for our arrival in 11 weeks time! He was having his lunch, under the shade of a tree, with temperatures in the mid 20's. I could almost taste his fish and smell the sea.

I also tried to book Table 31 at Mussakka, by e-mailing them; still waiting for the response! I might be Ok on that one tho, as I have asked to book Saturday 17th July!! Maybe it won't be Table 31 if they have carried out their expansion plans?

I also want to have a bag of peaches on the road into Gombe, and drink some water with the goats from the spring that runs out of the hills, on the same road. Yoh! ...........it's all coming alive again..............!
