Almond Liqueur
« on: March 29, 2010, 02:53:19 PM »
Could anyone tell me if the turkish almond liqueur (ajibadem?) tastes the same as amaretto? Also is it readily available in supermarkets? thanks :)

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Yes and yes. Compares very favourably with amaretto although I've not tasted them side-by-side.

Very easily available and definitely similar to Amaretto. Would say it's not quite as smooth and sweet but certainly for me makes it even nicer :)

Lovely with loads of ice on a warm balmy Kalkan evening!!!!!!!!!! It may not pass a comparison test on a clean pallet but drunk in Kalkan I can't taste the difference.

Agree completely!  It's also strange that Efes doesn't taste quite the same in the grim British weather either!
Shine on, you crazy diamond.
