Whats open in February?
« on: November 06, 2009, 09:09:30 PM »
Hi,

We need to complete on our villa in March but are thinking of coming over for a weekend in Feb to open a bank account to make it a bit simpler. Is there anything at all open in Feb? Hotels, restaurants, bars? We only need accomodation for 3 nights and would rather have a hotel but from what Ive seen it looks like they arent open then. Also what weather could I expect then?
Similarly does everything tend to open for Easter as we will be coming then too?
Cheers
Anna

We have lived here for the last 2 years and have found February to be the worst month weather wise.  It is usually very cold, it can be very wet sometimes for days at a time.  You will need to bring jumpers, stout shoes or boots if you are going out, and warm jackets/coats.  An umbrella will be usefull as well, better safe than sorry.  Some days can be sunny, but there is not a lot of warmth in the sun and then when the sun does go down you feel the cold more.  Make sure that if you do book in a hotel/apartment that they have either duvets or blankets as you will need them.  Good luck with your house purchase.
