24/7 English Support for TTNet Customers
« on: October 01, 2009, 08:08:49 AM »
Hi,

Just thought I would post a useful number I found for TTNet broadband customers - 24/7 English speaking support - Just dial 444 0 375 and press 9 for English.

My broadband has been up and down quite a bit in the last couple of days but as soon as I have phoned them its fixed straight away - impressive!

Cheers
Jon

Jon,

Many thanks for that information.  Also your earlier post re telephone services is extremely helpful.  Using our phone and broadband has been a bit hit and miss up to now.

Alan

adsl 7mbt

ttnet hypernet up to 100mbt on fiberoptic BUT speedtest.net benchmark is about 35-40mbt max for download and upload is 1mbt max (shaved on provider, they dont allow wideband up)

ping to europe 50+ ms, usa - 30-70

3G covered well around, 5-6mbt up and 2mbt down,  39TL for 4gb
4G (LTE) is on air, but i dont understand what band used. Both Iphone 5S and Huawei 4G modem is still 3G only.

Whaooh!
Satovod,
You are my Kalkan encyclopedia (joking)  :) . Among the other things, I need to find out how to connect my laptop to Internet. I bought a Vodafone traveller SIM card in Bodrum last summer, with Turkish £50 pf pre-loaded data. Vodafone Turkey disconnected my SIM without warning eight days later with still £38 of credit left. They said that there is a Turkish law which requires to pay a Turkish £150 TAX for each device where a Turkish SIM is installed, otherwise .... cut off. Strange isn't it?

cellphones that came to turkey without IMEI registration will be banned in network within 15days, if local turkish SIMcard installed. You can register your phone (imei) by paying 100tl fee to tax-office (this procedure is a quest that usually takes few hours when to pass it first time, and half a hour if you know the rules).
OR, if you IT-experienced enough, you can change your imei to any local turkish one. It works.

Another option is to buy 3g-wifi modem (router), it is cheap and useful. Cons: but one more battery to charge. Pro: you can have internet on all your devices.

Smartphones and tablets is 20-30% more expensive here than in europe. Expect no warranry/service.

Turkcell have best celluar/3g coverage, but most expensive, vodafone is next by overall quality, avea... (who use avea?)
