Our departures messed up - help!
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:09:20 PM »
We are coming to Kalkan for the last two weeks of August. The plan is that my husband and myself come for the first week and then our children age 20, 23 and 24 come for the second.
Our return flight leaves on the 31st August 16.50 then our three children were catching another flight with Travel Republic at 22.45 the same day but unfortunately that flight has now been changed to 04.50 on the first of September, which means they have a very long wait at the airport as we will be travelling to the airport from Kalkan together.
You might think as young lads they will be fine but one of my children has Down's Sydrome and I think the wait at that time will be very difficult.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what they can do and whether it would be possible to leave their luggage at the airport in the afternoon so they can go off somewhere.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Shining one for 50 pounds for a one way transfer to the airport would they not be best staying in Kalkan for that day and travelling separately from you?  To be honest with you there is absolutely nothing in Dalaman airport and it is so expensive.  Might as well lengthen their holiday and take advantage of the delay!

Dalaman airport has a left luggage facility which I think is located next to the passport control - Im not sure if this is a place to leave luggage or a place to collect "forgotton" luggage if that makes sense!

If you can leave luggage at Dalaman it may be worth you all travelling there and then the boys spend some time in Dalaman town - its bound to be cheaper than staying at the airport for refreshments etc

There is also the CIP lounge..... not sure what the charge is this year.
Also, I am sure someone posted on here about a "final day" trip to Dalyan which includes a stay at a hotel there before they transfer you to the airport?
