I missed the first two wickets of Sunday morning's play ın the test match slipping out of the Swan to have a sly ciggy.  Not really noticed much difference though, yet

Being one of the "bad habit" people - so I am led to believe! - I read in our national press re. the smoking ban, which refers to bars, cafes and restaurants.
So, when I am in Kalkan next month, at a roof top restaurant, in the open air, can I smoke or not? ???

I hope the ban covers the roof top terraces...not sure which is worse people smoking inside or groups gathered outside smoking and littering the streets with cigarrate ends...would be nice if there was a total ban full stop.

Most terraces are open, so not covered by the ban.  There is also a lack of rubbish bins or wallmounted ashtrays around the village so those of us forced outside need to find somewhere to put our fag ends.  Any advice Misty?  By the way, with the firmness of your comments before, when did you give up?

Oh dear, a hornet's nest seems to have been stirred up re smoking/non smoking!  Just because some of us have "a habit!", let us not forget 1 in 3 Turks smoke, and their tobacco industry is a source of income to the country.
Yes, I am a smoker, but will abide by any local/national laws - the same as I have to here in the UK. :)

I will give up smoking when all the inconsiderate people give up driving pollution spouting cars and slowly killing me and the planet, imho anyone who drives a car is the same or worse than a smoker.

Of course, I will obey the law but still feel the restaurant/business owners should have the right to choose whether or not their establishments allow smoking.  If smoking ever becomes an Olympic sport, the Turks are surely medal contenders

Blimey, I bet you are sore after your bike ride from Dalaman to Kalkan. (And your arms must ache after flapping all the way from the UK)!

I don't subscribed to the anti motorist league I like big engined cars we own a 4x4 for the 1/4 mile school run...and fly several time a year.... my belief is that global warming is a load of hype and used an excuse to tax us even more....the earth is still coming out of the ice age !!!

I do object to smokers polluting my private space

It varies I guess more for noise polluted less for things like smoke etc I have nothing against smokers if they wish to fill their bodies with poisonous chemicals its up them..just don't expect me or my family to share the experience...

I smoke but I really, really, object to people smoking around me when I am eating - I don't care if there is a ban or not, it is just rude & inconsiderate to smoke when others are eating.
