PAPARAZZI restaurant
« on: July 01, 2009, 04:06:27 PM »

Hi,
Just wanted to tell everyone about a really good restaurant in Kalkan...Paparazzi restaurant.  Its on a rooftop terrace, so great sea view.  The food is delicious - there''s lots of traditional turkish dishes, but also other meals if you want something more familiar. and a special kids meal deal.  Its run by a lovely Turkish family - they''re always so friendly and welcoming...this is the second year i''ve been to kalkan and they remembered me straight away!

Its just about opposite Rendezvous on the opposite side of the road as you go down the main street.
The guy who runs it is called Ramazan and they are all from Old Calis
If you go have his Chicken Tikka Masala which he makes while you wait from "real" ingredients - it really is very very good

I don't think they actually eat it in India as it is now exported to the Uk where it is the nation's favorite food :D

The last indian to open up - Marsala Zone I think - was met with howls of derision on this forum (not from me I might add).

I would rather have decent Indian meal in Kalkan than some of the "international" dishes.

We saw some appalling stuff on menus last week, e.g. Sea Bass in blue cheese sauce.

Maybe chicken Tikka marsala with blue cheese sauce and chips could be a major culinary breakthrough here!!
At least as you say it will be a break from much of the "sameness" here where everybody seems to want to copy the place next door
Will ask at Oz Adana if they could do a tikka pide

Did you try the sea bass in blue cheese,if not how would you know it was
appalling ? just because you didnt fancy it,doesnt mean someone else wouldnt.
I have seen things on menus that I wouldnt eat,but I wouldnt call them appaling, strange maybe. ???

Please remember that most of the dishes served here are authentic Turkish cuisine and not of Indian origin. The Hunters kebab is out of this world. I rate this restaurant as one of the best in Kalkan.

I second that skuza  :D  Went there last yr and also had hunter kebabs - we had chicken lamb and beef (yep, we're a bit greedy! :P) and their cooked with onion, tomato and garlic and spices. delicious! with the usual turkish rice, which i love.  and the mezes we got here to go with our free garlic pitta bread were really good too!   i'm glad this place is still open - coming on hols end of august!
