What's the tannoy saying every morning?

Just got back from another fantastic trip to Kalkan but was puzzled by the 10am tannoy?  Can anyone here enlighten me?  On Friday I think we got the same message 3 times during the day.  Now I love the sound of the call to prayer, but this was rather annoying - will they be doing this throughout the summer?

This is not a call to mosque that Jamera is referring to.  The 10am call over the tannoy is quite different.  We couldn''t understand a word but assumed it was coming from the Beledisye (spelling!).

Isnt the tannoy giving out local info ? I dont think its anything to do with the mosque.

Yep, it gives out local info....and is particularly necessary when a water shortage is imminent!

There is so much distortion that it is difficult to know what he does say.
Best part is trying to guess how long after he switches on before he snorts/blows into the microphone. How about a sweepstake on it locally during the summer?

They have the Tannoy anouncements in Kas and Fethiye. The lady in Kas speaks very clearly and the sound quality seems better than in Kalkan. I understand the Fethiye announcements are also made in English.
Perhaps in Kalkan they have missed the "T" off!!
