Tip the driver

First time in Kalkan this year and flying into Dalaman airport.

Not knowing what the standard of living is like for locals,what would be a fair tip to give the Taxi driver for a trip from the airport to the village? Would they usually prefer sterling or local currency?

Personally we always do and tip in Lira

I always tip as well but are we talking £5, £10, £20 what is reasonable

10 TL sounds quite generous enough - local labourers earn about 50 TL or less per day.

Roughly a fiver doesnt seem much though to travel that far!

By the way the villa we are staying at is "supposed" to be 20 minutes walk to the village. How much would a taxi cost for such a journey? Also there are 7 of us, do they have any mini bus type taxis or would we just get 2

Taxi''s can carry seven but I believe there is a rule, no more than six in town......

The transfer driver that did his shopping while we were in the car.....then collected his mrs and drove her home....then got lost...... got diddly squat!!!!
