I was reading yesterday the Black Lions Newsletter & spotted:

"A highly popular and prestigious area soon to be connected to the harbour via a sea front promenade, Komurluk is dominated by luxury villas and few apartments reach the market for sale. Stunning panoramic sea views into and out of the bay and the attractive Palm beach Club on the sea front are added bonuses."

I had heard rumours about this promenade / boardwalk before & thought it would never happen - but does anyone know any more about this - are the plans back on??

Do the few people in luxury villas in Komerluk promenade want to walk into the village - who is building this - does anyone know?
Wouldn''t it be better / more useful to build it round to Kalamar where it would be enjoyed by many more people?

Sorry, but to me the whole idea of a promenade fills with me horror.... it sounds along the lines of Blackpool!! - apologies to anyone from that area, but I hope you know what I mean!

I think its the area to the Kas side of Kalkan bay, under Patara Prince and where the boats take you to the beach clubs from the harbour. I heard this rumour a year or two ago from an estate agent in the old town (not the aforementioned blacklions). Maybe the belediye will provide walkways to both Komerluk and to Kalamar, even if this would upset the cabbies. It would be interesting to know whether businesses will be allowed to set up along such a promenade - what''s Turkish for candy floss?

Last year we walked to the end of the dirt track above the beach which was then blocked by rubble. It appeared that to reach Komurluk is only a matter of a few hundred yards but would mean getting round a small headland (or through it if the new road is anything to go by!)

I like the Idea of a prom,if it was on both sides of the bay,komerluk and kalamar,it would open up these areas to people staying inthe village,as long as they dont end up like blackpool prom.
They have the same sort of thing in dalyan which runs down the side of the river and brings you out at the harbour in town and its a really nice walk,instead of going all round the houses to get into town.

Wonder how far it is from the Yali Beach Club to Kalamar? Although the track stops at the hotel beyond the Yali, there is a track behind the Yali past a house which again peters out near the sea but not within sight of Kalamar developments.

We''ve stayed in Komorluk and there was talk last year of a walkway to the town beach - promenade seems a rather grand term. It would make sense, and be considerably shorter (and therefore less costly) than one from Kalamar. But it would probably, really only benefit those residing or living in Komurluk. The only thing for those going the other way would be Palm Beach Club, which is easily, and far more charmingly, reached by water taxi. There''s some rather lovely expensive villas to nosey at, but that''s it really. Perhaps the builders who have made a fortune from the property development in that area would be willing to fund it?

I wouldnt call it a promenade but I believe there is going to be a coastal path from around the Club Patara area to the beach, this is to tie in with the widening of the road at this stretch and the installation of the roundabout where Luka currently is
