Ferry from Dacta to Bodrum
« on: January 18, 2009, 10:42:01 PM »
Hi

We are travellilng to Bodrum to a wedding in May before coming back to Kalkan and are planning to stay on the Dacta peninsular for a night or two before possibly taking the ferry (with car) across to Bodrum. Have any of you taken this ferry trip? do you need to book in advance?  Any advice and recommendations of places to stay on the peninsular would be very much appreciated.

Yalikavak.  I went there a few years ago before we discovered Kalkan and it''s very nice.  It is similar to Kalkan in that accomodation is spread out from a village.  The village isn''t as big as Kalkan and is all on the flat.  The restaurants range from cheap and cheerful to expensive, when they are overlooking the sea.  There are about half a dozen bars too

Yali has a beautiful marina with loads of posh yachts moored there and because of this there is a more international feel than Kalkan and is well situated on the Bodrum peninsula for visiting other places.

I have also stayed in Bitez but didnt like that as much.

I''ve never been on the ferry though so can''t help you with that.
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.
