« on: August 19, 2008, 07:39:45 AM »
hello all..i recently bought some toothpaste from Yali supermarket..it was a colgate one ,on the front of it was a picture of what looked like a stick with brushes on the end of it..above the picture was the word "misvak"..now iv''e looked through my language books but can''t work out what flavour it was. (toothpaste was orange and white) ..we all tried it and thought it was great..next time we will bring home loads of it...i''m sure one of you loveley people will know what misvak is? anyone else bought anything in turkey you can''t get at home from our shops?

Hi Blue Lizard

The word misvak does not apply to flavour, it is the word for a special kind of flosser/toothbick, a small wooden stick with a brush type end, that is a misvak.

I thought it was the word for toilet cleaner.
There - over there, there are.            To - Going to
Their - belongs to them.                     Too - In addition, Also
They're - Short for they are.

Pedant! me?

Try E45, my wife managed to mistake this for toothpaste one morning after a late night in Kalkan. She didn''t give it such a good review.

Could it be liquorice flavoured? Is there a picture of a woody stick on the box?

It''''s liquorice, the picture is of a liquorice twig. We used to chew on them when we were kids.

I had forgotten about it too, until I saw the picture on the packet.
It started off ok, but then it became yucky. I never met anyone who could chew a whole stick.
Does anyone remember "Tics", the tiny liquorice tablets that came in a small tin?
