Music that does your head in

Following on from Desert Island discs - Which song or track do you really hate.
Kalkan4eva says her nemisis is Doris Day sing the "Black Hills of Dakota"

I absolutely loathe "Popcorn" by Hot Butter. Everywhere I went in Germany in 1972,they seemed to be playing it and it was never off the radio.
If you need reminding how awful it was, here is a link

Other peoples'' music booming out from their car stereos as they roar past or audible from their Ipods/MP3 players when on the train!

Agree with Sally, especially when the music draws attention to what is usually a crappy car, worth much less than the stereo system.  As a regular commuter, I would love to have the nerve to throw an annoying I-pod out of the train window or snip the cable, but nowadays you risk stabbing for just humming along!

Back on topic, would it be inappropriate to nominate Ibrahim Tatlises, Turkey''s Cliff Richard (there''s another nomination) and a spitting image of the 90s Saddam H!  Some of these Turkish cabaret shows seem to go on for ever!

Oh, and all those Sinatra clones from the so-called talent shows!

Has anyone mentioned Michael Bolton yet?  Has anyone ever seen him and Bonnie Tyler together?.......

Hi itstime. I once saw Bill Bailey do a fantastic cokney version of Lady in Red, can''t remember the lyrics but it did contain the immortal line "you scrubbed up lovely for me" Hilarious.
Felicity I do like some love songs Billy joel''s always a woman to me is a favourite I just can''t bear trite, syrupy ones.
Oooh just thought of another one:
Hello - is it me your looking for?" now that has got to be the worst music video ever.

Cannot stand anything that is called - "Rap, Garage, House, Hip-Hop" etc....
Also, get pretty suicidal listening to some of the "Country" dirges, and, more locally, would volunteer to personally "cull" a scottish so-called "singer"  -  Sidney Devine (better known as"Steak and Kidney") -  whose voice could, quite easily, be used as a weapon of mass destruction!!  ;D ;)

I remember that - I love Bill Bailey. Saw him in ''Tinselworm'' late last year - wonderful.

Hey sally the man is a genius. He did a whole section of his show dedicated to taking the p*** out of Chris de Burgh and then he ripped into 70''s supergroups. Wonderful.
Sorry have gone off topic here.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention.. apart from rap/hiphop/triphop/garage etc music, which has no artistic merit whatsover, I hate any music that now gets labelled ''R & B''.

R & B stands for Rhythm and Blues, for goodness sake! It was originally coined to describe ''proper'' soul music (which I love). The modern pap that gets labelled ''R & B'' has neither rhythm nor blues and is normally composed by computer and played not by musicians but by soul-less machines (or worse, ripped-off samples of proper old soul tracks that were originally played by guys with more soul, rhythm and blues in their little fingers than any of these modern-day musical pirates).

Grrrrrr (rant over).  >:(

I hate that record ''lovely Day'' by Bill Withers. Yeuch. He holds onto that one lovely daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay for far too long. I want to shoot him and put him out of his misery.
This is in addition to any of that crap, sorry rap, loosely called, music - who can find that nice to listen too?

Celine Dion and that awful Titanic song - I turn it off when it starts - awful.  And recently is it called the ''Bleeding Song'' with Leona Lewis? - awful - again I turn it off as soon as I begin to hear it.
