DIY trip to Saklikent?
« on: July 07, 2008, 09:30:20 PM »
We loved visiting Saklikent on our first visit to Kalkan in May/June.  We''re coming back in late September  8) and would like to visit the gorge again, but take longer and have a real explore and meander in there by ourselves (well, apart from the loads of other folk wandering around!).  We don''t want to hire a car, but is there anyway to book a car & driver for a visit there including a lunch stop somewhere?  If so, who and how much would it cost?
Thanks!

A friend of ours arranged for a "taxi driver for the day" I don''t know how much they agreed but they said they had a great time as they got to spend as long as they wanted where they wanted

Always worth considering

I think that''s the key - just ask around - if you have a favourite taxi driver or transfer people then ask them how much it would cost.  If we don''t drive ourselves - we go in minibus with lots of others and our usual transfer guy drives us and between us all - it is very reasonable.  You get to go where you want, for how ever long you want - and all we try and do is buy him lunch - it is a great day to DIY!

Don''t forget to go tubing down the river and mudbath at the end..!!

Enjoy!

Hey Wendy - that''s a really kind offer - thanks!  We won''t take you up on it though, as I''ve just found out an old friend will be in Kalkan same time as us, so we''re going to do the trip with them.  Thanks again though - this forum (with one or two sad exceptions) is just the friendliest and most helpful!
