Iconic faces of Kalakn
« on: June 12, 2016, 09:31:58 PM »
Only 8 more sleeps now: Reading other reports here it seems as if Kalkan is much quieter this year. Feeling quite sad for the people and businesses of the town rather as you would on hearing of a dear friend who was going through a difficult time. For us there has never been any other option for our holiday this year and we will return again in September
There are so many things that we are eagerly anticipating
That first evening drink on the terrace whilst watching the sun go down and then the walk into town for a fabulous dinner. Sitting in the Fener at lunch time and watching the local boys diving off the jetty (also the moored fishing boats if the owners aren’t around).Lazy days around the pool when the only thing you have to do is turn the pages of your book
One of our many pleasures is “people watching” and spotting those familiar faces from previous visits.
Here are a few of our “Iconic faces of Kalkan”

Tailor Halil and his ever smiling daughter Asena
That lovely sad eyed man who sells roses
The red haired “hobo” guy
The lady with the fabulous hat collection who is often seen sitting in Merkez
“Orlando Bloom”( I think he had gone walkabout last year but he always comes back. Just like us)
Tommy the Dalmation
Daniel Craig (well apparently he was spotted once in the Yali supermarket and I am still living in hope!)

So please tell me, who do you always see year in year out?  And who do you think has the most famous face in and around Kalkan?
