Cafetiere
« on: May 21, 2016, 10:06:34 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has seen cafetières for sale anywhere in Kalkan...? We've left a bag with our Turkish owner for the past 6 years that included our cafetiere, but he's now sold his properties and bought an opticians near Istanbul (as you do) so we are not sure our bag will be there this year and of all the things we've left with him, this will be the thing we will miss most. We've considered bringing one with us, but our luggage is already tight so would prefer to just buy one when we're there and leave it behind. BTW, we left one at the property the first year we stayed but it had gone the following year and we couldn't get one anywhere....that was about 6 years ago so hoping things have changed.

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

hi K4E If tbe property you are renting doesn't have one for guest use, you can get them from the kitchen shop in Kalkan which is jusr before you get to Carrefour on the same side. Also Yali may have some as they have an eclectic mix. Fingers crossed.

We bought one when we were out in April. I'm sure we got it from the Yali supermarket (on the left going up towards the market).  If not I think they sell them in the small homeware shop down the Kalamar Road (a little past Chillies but on the right).
Our property - 3 bed, 3 bath, OWN POOL, fab location:-

Thanks everyone, we know the kitchen shop well...so will try there first and if we're unsuccessful I would be happy to relieve you of yours, samson, in exchange for some efes, naturally :)

It's strange here without him, K4E!  Any idea who the new owners are?

Not the new owners of "your place", no....but his brother is now managing "our place" and No.3. We will miss him terribly, although he promises us he will be there next month when we are...but I'm not hopeful. The price hike was a big shock for us so probably our last time at HanInn this year. End of an era :( :(

K4E you can definitely get one in Yali, we bought one last year, it's okay and did the job, but we have bought a larger one in the UK to take out with us in July, for my morning coffee delivery to Lizilu and Automan! :D ;D :D Not sure it will include croissants lol!
