2008 DALAMAN AIRPORT TRANSFER COSTS

Having visited Kalkan over the Easter period, we took our usual transfer to and from Dalaman from Enes, who we find very good and professional.

We were told that the cost of the Dalaman run has increased from £45.00 one way to £50.00 one way for the usual air conditioned saloon. As we hadn''t been informed previously we did only pay £90.00 return for this trip.
I notice that Adda have also increased to £50.00 one way and that their 4 to 8 people transfer cost is now £65.00 one way.

I mention this as many people who rent out their villa''s / apartments over the summer months may wish to inform their friends / customers / change advertisements etc of the quite large increase.

Unless of course someone has info on a cheaper airport transfer company..??

We''ve been using Ahmet, a local taxi driver. Last season his price was £40 each way. Don''t know yet what it is this year, I assume it''ll be £45.

Thought I''d better mention that Ahmet doesn''t use his yellow taxi for airport runs, but uses a normal car.

Kalamar Bay mentions the ''quite large increase'' in the cost of transfers from Dalaman to Kalkan. It is approximately an 11% increase. In the period since the fares were set last year, the cost of petrol and diesel in Turkey has gone up by well over 20%, licenses for registered travel operators to carry out transfers have increased by almost 20% and tax and insurance which companies pay has increased by over 10%, the cost of parking at the airport has also increased by over 15%, so in fact, the transfer companies are absorbing much of the additional costs themselves. Petrol here is now 3.30 ytl a litre, diesel slightly cheaper but still over a pound sterling a litre. The journey from Dalaman to Kalkan is roughly 80 miles, so a £50 transfer, in a car which could accommodate up to 3 people, is actually still very good value for money.

Totally agree Lantana, the rising price of fuel has many knock-on effects also.

The £50.00 fare is still pretty reasonable especially IF you have 3 fare paying passengers and it is shared. I can see parents now asking their little uns to chip in....!!

I had an enquiry today regarding the transfer costs arranged a couple of months ago.  I thought I''d check the Addatours website and they''re quoting the same price as booking through Enjoy Kalkan.  Is this correct please?

Yes the price for transfers is the same with EK or ADDA now, however if you book via EK you are also eligible for bigger discounts on car hire and excursions
