Clothes shopping

Where is the best place to buy fashionable clothes and accessories in Kalkan? I understand there are quite a few boutiques there now. Thanks

My wife and daughters would say that Vessila & Brako is very good, it''s underneath Ibo''s Restaurant, I know I seem to spend hours hanging around there waiting.

Melissa next to Baykush has some trendy stuff too.
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

Vassila & Brako a firm favourite here. Clothes are a bit like Boden, Per Una and Monsoon but so much cheaper. They change their stock daily it comes from Istanbul. They never hassle you to buy, and you can spend as long as you like just browsing. Good range of sizes and if you buy anything when you return to U.K. people will always ask ''where did you get that?'' Well worth a visit ....... or 2..... or 3........or.................lots and lots!!

What sort of sizes do they do, and are they quite generous in length of tops and skirts etc?
I know i cant expect a 36 inch leg in trousers and jeans....''Jean'' spent a whole week trying to find some as he was convinced he could find something the right length for us!  ;)

There must be some, last year a friend who was staying with us managed to spend £200 in the time it took the rest of us to have a beer (just the one) by the harbour.

As to the tall sizes, I am fortunate in having a 6ft2in wife who invariably cannot find anything that fits in Kalkan - handbags excepted.

Regards

Alan

Oooh, handbags sound good!
Jewellery is my passion in Kalkan.
I reckon Mr B would really have something to moan about if i started with clothes, so i''ll just have to remind him how lucky he is that i''m 6ft4in and unable to find any clothes long enough!  ;D

You could always have something made to measure in Kalkan. There are several places that will make you tops, trousers etc. and you know that they will fit you perfectly. ;)

I cannot make a personal recommendation but I think there maybe a couple of adverts in the Lycian Advertiser, just follow the links on the main home page. We shall require a picture of you in the finished articles though.  ;D

A pair of leather trousers!
Now, that would be enough to set Mr B''s pulse racing
And it would make my tall buddies very jealous!!!

Cheers Joan...will take a look and count up the pennies ready for a wardrobe make over.  :)
Will i have to reveal my face and identity in the pics, though, or do you think i will be instantly recognisable in Kalkan by my fab wardrobe and my ''enjoy kalkan'' badge...not to mention my ability to stand up in the sea where everyone else has to tread water?!   :o

The man on the left going down the hill, just before you reach merkez cafe makes clothes(fabrics & textiles)he sits outside at night with family and cats..Kalkan regulars will know him,his name is Halil, you will see him walking around with a large grey beard and a bandana on his head..he is a lovely man.He is trained in Ottoman style tailoring and is top notch...he has made shirts for me and mighty fine they are too...if you have a favourite he will copy it or tell him what you want he will draw it and give you a price ;)
