What's that noise?

I was hoping a regular of Kalkan maybe able to help. All day today we have been able to hear a distant rumbling of what sounds like thunder. It obviously can't be thunder as the skies are blue and cloudless ( I did check on Wikipedia and you have to have clouds for thunder according to that great source of knowledge ) any ideas anyone

I hope they havent started work on the Quarry....
I have been in Kalkan, sitting on the sunbed in sunshine listening to thunder and seeing lightening and dark clouds approaching over the mountain. Strange but true.

over on KTLN they have the answer as Turkish Navy exercise in the vicinity.
