Water issues in Ortaalan area
« on: July 06, 2014, 12:10:50 PM »
Hi there,  I have a villa in the rota Alan area and we are still having water issues. Is anyone else still experiencing this and do you know what is being done to bring the service back to normal (well at least by Kalkan standards).

Hi the supply in Kalamar also seems patchy

Never off long enough to be a major problem but very low pressure today

But where is the new water company - they still don't seem to have much of a presence in Kalkan yet

Anyone any more information??

There was major supply issues in the Ortalan area at start of season. There was no water supply for over 6 weeks. No one seemed to know the exact cause and with the new water company not in Kalkan (they are based in Antalya) no one gave a jot! The new company is still no where to be seen and from my knowledge dont  appear to have issued a bill yet! It looks like the pipes in the Ortaalan area are too small to meet the demand of all the new build in area. Bizzare that developers are allowed to build with no thought on whether there is adequate water supply. Crazy!

Indeed

No bills yet and not had any for months

The problem is that under the previous Belediye system once consumers reached a certain level of usage , the whole lot was charged at the highest tarrif

So from the suppliers point of view the longer they fail to provide any bills the more money they will charge

But again there is no one to raise the issue with it appears

As to allowing lots of new builds with No corresponding increase and improvements to the infrastructure - is that really a surprise to anyone ????
