Anyway, since when was Kalkan a fashion parade?
BubblesG - I do know that some of the ladies like to make a bit of an effort in the evening. Even if it's just a forgiving maxi dress, some bejewelled flip flops and a nice cardi. They don't call that stretch of road between the Moonlight Bar and the Merkez Cafe 'the Kalkan Catwalk' for nothing.  :o

Cases are down!!..well caught by Mrs L a catch Ian Botham would have been proud of!!..My case is New and I have found a zipped section that I didn't see before..to the untrained eye this just looks like a zipped section..but to a seasoned old fart like myself it is obviously a Pork Pouch used for transporting Sausages etc!! ;D
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????

 ta ta for now

I start mentally packing, usually about four in the morning, at least a month before going, drives me crackers. The cases come down from the loft about a week before. Then the marathon begins, I pack and unpack at least four times, thinking I don't need this, unpack it, the next day, maybe I do need it, repack it. Then I'll buy something new, promising myself I'll remove one of my old favourites, oh now there's a dilemma. My OH thinks it's mad and sorry to say he's right, he packs his case with military precision, including for the journey home, whereas my stuff's just chucked in the case and then I have to sit on it to lock it, blame it on the goodies purchased at the market. We're not going until Sept 1st and I'm already compiling lists. Why oh why, do I have to stress myself like this, when half the time I don't even wear half  I take. Kalkan packing disorder or what  : ::)

We just lay it out an a spare bed about 10 days before departure.  Things get added and taken away until the final pack the day before.

Much simpler to change the mind, and no packing and unpacking ...

And we use last year's list of what actually went in (and which case) and amend according to experience and new items.  It's got pretty refined by now!

AND --- we know that some couples pack their own cases.  We split our belongings between the two cases (but obviously keeping pairs of things together), so if one case goes missing, we still have a working case to be going on with until the mislaid one comes in from Helsinki or Tierra del Fuego, or wherever.

My Cairn terrier would make a comfy dog bed out of the neatly ironed clobber, maybe would be a good idea to get the door catch fixed first. Chris-S, you've made packing an art, good one. Always intend to split  pack but always forget at the last minute. Another thing, BL? Which case do we put the very important slab of  Cathedral City in, decisions, decisions lol.

I'm the same as Chris_S with the packing.  Start gathering together on the spare bed about 2 weeks prior and pack either the day before for an early flight or the morning for a late flight.
