Is it true that you have to get an E-Visa before we leave the UK, this is to replace paying £10 when we land a Dalaman Airport.

June for us too  :)
Hope to see at least three England games before being beset by disappointment once again....although England's first match v Italy is at the ungodly hour of 1am Kalkan time.....slightly better than the original kick-off time which would have seen bars open at 6am or in the case of Moonlight just stay open from the night before  :o
Evisas all round...
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Thank you for your post Kalkan4eva, I was going to ask about the football as 3 of our group, especially, my partner, (me being the minority, I don't mind watching England but i draw the line at Togo vs Outer Mongolia) will be wanting to watch The World Cup and I was going to place a post at a later stage as to where to watch it, especially as it will be at a time thats well past my bed time lol.  My other half seemed to think that it would be about 4am.

Hi Lynne T,

Someone from work is due to go to Marmaris in May and when he tried he was advised that the visa is only valid for three months so wait nearer the time and I think he said it came to £12.00

I hope this helps and if I have been advised wrong then please correct me.

the evisa costs $20 (approx £12)
it lasts for 180days (multi entry over the 180 days but you can only stay a total of 90 days during the 180)
you can select an arrival date when applying, the 180 days then starts from the arrival date. (note however the arrival date calendar only shows the next 3 months)
So if you apply today (Jan 21st) you can select April 20th arrival and the visa is valid for a stays totalling upto 90 days arriving on or after April 20th and leaving before Oct 17th

Hi Hobbo,

That is a very helpful explanation. We are going on April 27th,so I guess from January 28th,we will be able to enter April 27th as our arrival date ??

yes that way you will maximise the life of the visa, you could get it starting earlier but obviously the 180 days would be up sooner. It all depends on how many trips you plan to make and when.. I'm not sure if the evisa system allows you to apply for a second visa before the 1st runs out.. so if you were planning to go back to Turkey on say the 20th Oct for a week it might be an issue, as 28/4 +180 days the visa would run out during the Oct visit... in this case you might be better starting the 180 days earlier so that there would be no problems applying for a 2nd visa to cover the Oct trip..

Hi Hobbo,

Yes, again its good advice.Apart from our april/may trip,we will be going late june and then going around 15th October until the end of the month, and as you say,the visa will run out mid trip,in October

We have always got our 2nd visa from the airport before,as everyone else has done. Now,due to getting it online,as you say there may be a little bit of crossover and confusion.

Better to set the date of arrival much earlier so that it expires much earlier than October and then less likely to create confusion, when I re apply for a new visa to cover the October trip

One question Hobbo..............Is it " the date of arrival " you have to state........or is it "the date that you wish the visa to run from "??

If it is "the date of arrival "that  you have to state.........Is this the date you have to arrive,ie 27th april in my case.

I can see the virtue in starting the visa in February or march as either would cover the april and june trips, and the visas would then run out around august/September time...........plenty early enough to re apply for the October trip   ( with no confusing crossover )

Help sort out my confusion,Hobbo !!

My assumption is that it is "the date that you wish the visa to run from " which in normal circumstances would be the same as arrival date, however if you do visit early and late season you may want to manage it to avoid possible issues. It may be possible to have two e-visas overlapping who knows...??
