Christmas is getting close so it must be the time to find out how long there is to go before we all start heading out to our favourite place on the planet again.

I'll go first shall I? 141 days.

Was going to wait until I got back to work after the Christmas break when it will be 4 months exactly, but there were no other posts to read this lunchtime so thought I would start the ball rolling.

Unfortunately not been able to book yet, so can't do the countdown for the time being. Never mind off for four nights to a coastal cottage in Fishguard West Wales tomorrow for hubby's birthday. Looking forward to sipping a glass of white or two by roaring log fires. Not exactly heavenly Kalkan I know but have bought in some Efes to enjoy whilst reminiscing about our last summer's visit and debating when we'll book for our next. Roll on summer 2014 !!

Oh! for those long hot summer days when you can mow the lawn, do the gardening, wash and polish the car, and get the weeds out from between the blocks in the driveway!

Sigh!........no plans yet for us

Odd year coming up, big restructure in work with a very real possibility I'll be made redundant

on the bright side though if I am I'll have the money and time to go to kalkan

Seriously, probably aiming for October which sadly is far too many days to count just yet, so will be having my Kalkan fix earlier in the year through all of you......no pressure!

Just to digress a little .........., for those of you counting the days until you come out for Christmas/New Year, as the weather is at the moment here, would suggest thermal undies etc in your suitcases as it is very cold at the moment especially at night, but the sun is shining.

We have our American adventure in September to look forward to after we have been to Kalkan in May. I have a Big birthday coming up so thought we would go somewhere different for our second holiday. Costing a darn site more thougth. Where is your adventure taking you?

Jo, it's our silver wedding anniversary next week but we've delayed the celebratory holiday until April. We're flying to San Francisco and driving down to San Diego......then flying out to Hawaii. Like you say, costing a fortune but you're only married 25 years once (unless you're a bloody gluten for punishment!).

American adventure. Not much of an adventure really, we are spending 6 nights in New York then flying the San Francisco for 6 nights. I have been to both places before but the current husband has not. Really like San Francisco, something about the atphoshere there.

I use this site for printing out calendars to carry out with my mac-book so that if flights are released while I am away, I can instantly make a decision about booking.

There is also a section on there that calculates days between events, i.e. from today until I fly out on 29 April, (37 days). Interestingly it also breaks that down into hours (888), minutes (53280) and even seconds (3196800). You can even get an exact count of the days, hours, minutes and seconds to take off time.
