Advice needed for October weather

I'm going to Kalkan on October the 18th for just 4 days with a group of girlfriends to celebrate that we are all fifty this year! I can't wait! This will be my 5th visit to Kalkan but I've only ever been with family in May or July. I'm sure we'll all have a great time, but I am a little anxious because, as the organiser, as I am frequently asked what the weather will be like. I'm really hopeful of catching some rays while we are there. Am I being optimistic?

Not at all optimistic, Lola... the weather in October is mostly warm and sunny. You might get the odd showery day but they are still quite rare... although obviously the evenings are starting to draw in a bit, and it can get cooler at night so a cardigan or jacket is a good idea.

Thanks for the speedy reply, Martyn. That is reassuring. I will now advise that bringing swimwear and sun tan lotion will not be a waste of time!

Agreed - the weather in October is usually lovely, definitely able to sunbathe. So pack all the usual things and have a fantastic birthday

It goes dark earlier and the evenings can be a bit chilly on a roof terrace but the days are mostly sunny. We've been a few times in October but never later than 18th. The sea is lovely and warm at that time of year, which makes the beach or beach clubs a good bet. Palm Beach does close around that time of year but I think others are open right through until the end of October. One thing I would include in your luggage is a fold way plastic poncho - the type they sell at festivals - as they fit in a handbag and can be whipped out in a moments notice. The showers tend to be short and sharp so they are ideal
