Turkish Teapots in Kalkan?
« on: August 08, 2013, 07:49:08 AM »
Does anyone know where I can buy a Turkish teapot (the double-pot ones) in Kalkan? I'm hooked on cay and didn't bother looking for a teapot when last in Kalkan as I assumed there would pe plenty of choice in the UK. The only ones I like the look of are shipped from Istanbul and are really expensive so I was hoping to buy one in Kalkan next month...

I don't want a really ornate 'touristy' one, just a plain, metal one  :)

The kitchen stall in the centre of the market - the kitchen shop on the left hill up towards the vets - the kitchen shop on the right on the road to Akbel ..................enough?

p.s. it's called a caydanlik

Thanks Kevincat, will try those places. I knew I'd seen them in the market but only remembered seeing the gift set type ones so will take another look this time.

You can also buy them in the hardware store on the road up from the roundabout by the School towards Kas. (Near Han restaurant)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Thanks k4e! Wish I'd just bought one in May - I've been craving Turkish tea non-stop since I got home :)

I have to say Jen Jen that shop is dangerous....its like a little treasure trove of things you never knew you needed until you saw them in there......in fact Antler, you need to make this your first stop.
Good luck with your caydanlik search, JJ
