High Winds?!
« on: May 29, 2013, 05:38:45 PM »
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows when year high winds are due to subside? They're pretty scary? Also as we were sat out this afternoon we noticed some helicopters dipping into the water collecting huge buckets of water and going into the bay with them? Does anyone know what this was for, they usually do this for fires don't they?

Thanks all xxx

KTLN reports that high winds are due to subside a little by thurs morning agent ottoman...best you carry on with some serious alcohol research!! ;)
some years ago when the hills behind kalamar road leading to yesilkoy caught light the helicopters were taking large scoops from the bay assisted by a large transporter plane also dropping water..but I would have thought you would have seen smoke if it was a fire?

I felt so sorry for the lovely bride and her wedding party from Blackpool who are staying in nearby apartments. She was due to get married today at 5.30pm at Yali Beach Club in this wild wild weather. I could have sworn I saw a couple of low-flying fascinators swirling across the bay around 6-ish.

Well if she had been in Blackpool it would have been raining so I think high winds in Kalkan were a good option!
