Help!
« on: June 19, 2013, 03:53:47 PM »
Hi there!  We're second time visitors to Kalkan and we're arriving next week, 26 June.  We are staying in the Kalamar Bay area.  We realised by the end of our last visit to Kalkan that we'd missed most of the excellent restaurants.  Would any of you be able to recommend any?  I can't remember the name of any of the ones that we visited last time, except that we enjoyed them all!  Also, any good tips for boat trips that we can pick up locally.  We have three young boys with us and last time we had to travel a long way to pick up the boat.  Something from the harbour would be better.  Really looking forward to our trip - and very grateful for any advice.   :)

Hi JillyH
Have a look in the restaurant section on here for lots of tips....there have been quite a few threads lately. Also search for boat trips, boats leave the harbour every morning for full day trips round the bay which are very reasonable and great fun.....not to be missed!
Have a great time.

Haven't been to Kalkan this year but last year we enjoyed Ramis, Gourmet, Escudo, Agora & Trio in Kalkan itself. All excellent.

However don't ignore Kalamar Bay, we stayed 5 mins walk from Cafe Vita (they do take-aways with home delivery as well) which was excellent. Had several lunches there and very good value. Also Aqua which is a few doors down gets very good reviews.

Hope this helps

Justin

There is an excellent restaurant at the top ofthe road that leads down to the beach club. We have been several times but some some reason I cannot remember its name.

Anyway it was as good as any in Kalkan but quite a bit cheaper.

The KTLN Business Map only shows one restaurant in that area, and that is House Cafe & Bar
KTLC: KM48 G3, is that the one?
Never dined there, but heard good reviews.

The restaurant at the above Kalamar bay (near cafe vita) is the Zeytin Restaurant at the Ekin Han hotel, a real find, so easy to walk past without noticing , it's passed vita on the right as you walk towards Kalamar before the road splits and drops down to the bay. Top class service food and views and excellent value. 8)

Thank you so much for all your suggestions - I'm even more excited now!  If I find anywhere good that you haven't mentioned I'll let you know.
