Have you spotted the International Space Station yet onelove?
We see it regularly when out in Kalkan. The restaurant waiters are always amazed when you can predict that it is going to appear in a certain part of the sky in say 5 minutes time!

Another beautiful sunny day here in Kalamar Bay. Approx 30% cloud cover. Light winds.

I'm just going to get an hour or two on a sunbed before I have to leave for the airport

Not looking forward to all that nasty weather you have been having back in the UK

Hopefully I will be back in paradise in about a week

The odd cloud in the sky this morning and my car reckoned it was 25c whilst the thermometer in the shade says a chilly 19.7c. However I'm not in the shade I'm in the sun and it is glorious!!
Breakfast on the terrace at 8am this morning in shorts and T-shirt reminded me to go to the curtain shop and order new sun shades for the summer.

It was nice to meet up with so many folks at parc kalkan last night for the quiz and apologies to the team I joined!!

Today (Thur 9:15) Mr Sun is trying escape from, high but nearly 100%, cloud cover. I think he will manage to put in an appearance later. It's still 17c, with just a light breeze (I've not had to resort to long trousers during the day all week!)
Yesterday was gorgeous, sun all day, sat out outside Cafe Vita for lunch with great company. Purchased new shading and brolly covers from a great new find from the end of last season (when we bought new sun-bed cushions) the curtain shop on the right of the road to Islamlar.

Today is my last full day in Kalkan so as per usual it will be spent waiting for all the workmen who have promised to turn up all week but keep saying one of their favourite words 'Yarin' ..
Kitchen fitter to finish off small jobs from last Nov.
Electrician to replace meter.
Carpenter to fit units in the basement.
Shop to deliver new washing machine.
Double glazing guy to measure and replace roof light (cracked in freak hailstorm ?)

straight across from the petrol station roundabout then keep left (Kadife Sk) 3 right hand bends then take the sharp left to Islamlar (Yala Cd)about 100-200 meters on the right is the fabric shop (opposite a scooter shop)

Washing machine delivered

Kitchen fitter now after lunch

Carpenter to fit units in the basement now due after 5pm

Not heard from electrician...

Double glazing maybe today maybe next week...

update..
wind getting very gusty, great drying weather... I'm sure my washing is now dry, I just need to find it!

Washing machine delivered
Kitchen fitter now after lunch (update now planned for April 7th )
Carpenter to fit units in the basement now due after 5pm (6 men turned up at 5pm units now fitted, so we now have a mini kitchen / utility room in our basement)
Not heard from electrician... (no change)
Double glazing maybe today maybe next week...(no change)

2 out of 5 isn't bad from past experience.

now on a mission to find my washing!!

I think you can tell how popular the thread is by looking at the amount of views it has had.

I also think this is a good opp to ask how popular it is and to see if its worth keeping up.

So a question......do you enjoy this thread / like to see it kept up to date...Yes or No ?

yes keep it up to date and include an evening temperature report so I know whether to bring long trousers & jumper/jacket in 3 weeks time....

Mainly sunny today - but quite breezy which is keeping the temperatures a bit lower - especially in the wind! Definitely still long trousers and jumper/jacket required at the mo!!!

Yes, keep the weather postings going as they're really helpful. We're coming out at the weekend for 10 days and we keep asking ourselves do we need T-shirts and shorts, or long trousers and a jacket??? Sounds like 'both' is the answer at the moment...

Compared to the naff weather here is Nottingham right now, I'm happy with whatever we find...!!

Cant wait to be back...

Wazzock, I know that problem, returned home last week, whilst in KK I wore shorts and T-shirts during the day and jeans and sweatshirt in the eves, Locals (and expats with a few years of KK living) wore long trousers jumpers and jackets during the day and looked at me as if I'd gone mad!! I'm out again April 6th for a short break with O/H and to finish getting the villa ready for the season, the pool is currently being filled so I can have a swim, this should confirm to the locals that I am totally mad!!
