April in Kalkan

We usually go to Kalkan in June and September but may be able to sneak a cheeky week in April.
Just wanted some info on the weather and what's open/closed etc.

I've been over the last couple of Aprils, quite a few places opening up (to give you a starting point KTLN had a summary of what was open over the winter) boats are still out of the water, but there is quite a few people about with many owners getting their places ready for the summer etc.. Weather can be mixed but I can't remember wearing anything but shorts and T-Shirts during the day, sometimes long sleeves in an evening. Some pools are open but will be very 'refreshing' (we had guests 1st week April 2012 that swam everyday in our unheated pool, much to the amusement of our gardener and poolman!) It is a different place than in June or September. Great time of year to do the walks and visit the sites etc.

April is a great month in Kalkan.
Lots of restaurants will be opening in time for Easter and there are boats in the water that will be able to provide trips.
Weather can be variable but usually lots of warm sunny days with cooler evenings.
Great time for getting out and about, for walking and exploring.
Come - why not!!

definitely a great time to visit, in fact it's my favourite time as the place comes alive and preparations are well underway for the season ahead. Most restaurants are usually open and this year with Easter being the first week in April, I think it will be busier than usual. We have always had some very hot days in April, certainly warmer than a day at the height of summer in the UK! Would def recommend it. KM

I was there in April last year for my birthday. Had good time on the whole: the weather was mixed - warm and sunny most days and good for walking to places that you can't in summer when it's too hot -  but windy (and I mean WINDY!) and wet a couple of days - the river running down the hill past Yali bar was spectacular. There were no boats in the water. Plenty of bars & restaurants open but very quiet. Wouldn't rush back in April to be honest. Prefer it warmer and more settled.

Also had a 3 day water cut and with the pools empty flushing the bog was somewhat inconvenient! and "showering" with baby wipes is no fun!
