Holiday Villa
« on: January 25, 2013, 09:06:56 PM »
Hi there

Hopefully someone can help me.  We have booked  flights for Kalkan in Juy/August this year.  We have found a villa we like on Owners Direct and they have availability.   The villa is through a company called Baransel Grup.   They have asked for a bank transfer for payment.  I was wondering if anyone could advise whether or not this is a reputable company and if our money would be safe.  We have never used a company before to rent a villa has always been directly with the owners who are usually in the UK.
 :)

They are reputable.  They own several villas around Kalkan, one just down the road from ours.

Thanky ou.   Better to be safe than sorry.   The villa we were looking at says it is on the slopes of Kiziltas and from the map looks as if it is just behind the D400.

If it is above/behind the D400 then it will involve a bit of a trek into town (taxis are readily available if you don't hire a car) but the pluses are superb views and much more peaceful, unless of course you are on the edge of the road then there's bound to be traffic noise. To walk to the harbour/beach is just under 1 mile, all downhill, walking back? well, Hmmm, depends how fit you are.

And the walk into town maybe a little easier this summer as it now seems the footbridges across the D400 should be finished pretty soon.  You could always ask the owner if the villa is situated anywhere near either footbridge.  I agree with Headroom, great views and a very welcome (warm) breeze especially in the height of summer.
