Furniture in kalkan, Kas Fethiye
« on: January 12, 2013, 07:35:59 PM »
We are in the process of buying a new apartment in Kalkan and now need to furnish it. We've bought the outside furniture and a sofa at christmas but need to furnish bedrooms and the lounge/dining area. Please can anyone recommend a local carpenter who can build bedroom furniture and any shops in the Kalkan, Kas or Fethiye area who stock good quality and contemporary  furniture and accessories  e.g mirrors which are not overly ornate.

Thank you for all your help

J

Can recommend Osman, a carpenter and Huseiyn, iron works (mirrors, dressing tables etc) Both operate from beside each other in Akbel.  Hopefully someone will come along with contact details for them, if not I will do my best to describe exactly how to get to their place.

Hi Mayday1, past Arcelic along the road to Yesilkoy with the granite workshop on your right.  After about 3/4 mins you will see a small gathering of shops on the right hand side including a barbers and a small furniture shop. Turn right in front of these shops iand follow the dirt track that runs parallel to the Yesilkoy road (this time heading in the direction of Kalkan) and you will find Osman's workshop on the rhs and Huseiyn just past Osman, again on the right.  I have used both guys and have found them to be reliable, excellent workmanship and at very very competitive prices.

There is a very big furniture shop on the D400 going towards Kas called Bravacassa (used to be Kelebek) that has a large variety of modern and contempory furniture for bedrooms, dining, living room and kitchens etc as well as patio furniture.  Not sure if it is open in the winter months though?

Hi I would defiantly go into fethiye, lots of choice and much much cheaper !!
Made the mistake last year of buying all my furniture from Kalkan, could have kicked myself when I went into fethiye & and saved a lot of Money. Nice selection of pictures & mirrors too.
I also brought an microwave with English controls for £50 in a shop called Eren spot in fethiye
I would certainly go and look there first.
