Calor gas fires
« on: October 22, 2012, 10:07:33 PM »
Hi all, has anyone used a calor gas heater? If so do they cause a lot of condensation? and where can I buy one?
                             Thanks.

A few people here use them but when we used to they do cause condensation and also after a while seem to give you a headache

They are probably OK to take the chill off a room but not for full time heating

Also they do not seem in general use as the cost of gas is high now at 70+ TL a bottle

Some also have a n electric fire bult in the top but never felt happy with that next to a gas source

Havenet seen any locally recently but there used to be on sale in Kas and they cetainly have them in a shopp in Fethiye if you can get there

No doubt other EK members will have their own views on this topic
Bought one for a friend at the end of last year from there and the unit cost 210TL + a container of gas

We have always used calor gas heaters in addition to our log fire. We have had two in use in winter for the last eight  ears with absolutely no problems. No smell and no condensation.

You will find the largest choice in Kas. Start at the white goods shops on the right hand side of the road before Migros, then check out Arcelik, on the same side but  about 200 metres past Migros.

Several local gas distributors in Kalkan will deliver the gas bottles.
