Eniste, so glad to hear you will not leave us!    The forum benefits especially from those like yourself who actually live in Kalkan.

Like so many others I was also sad to hear of the death of the dogs.   Do let the owners know that there are many of us thinking of them at this time.

I heard, via the grapevine, that the Jandarma now think it is thieves who are poisoning the dogs to prevent their barking and alerting sleeping residents.  But this is only a hypothesis.

That certainly happens in the UK - I know a couple of people here who have had their dogs poisoned by burglars in the past.  I don't think all the Kalkan poisonings will be down to that but some could be.  I guess that would make it much harder to identify the culprits though.
