Cafe Ev

Anyone off to the Market tomorrow might like to try lunch at the newly-opened Cafe Ev (uphill from Akbank on the the left directly opposite the Beledeyisi). It's run by relatives of the family that run Sofra & they've opened it this week so a group of us went along yesterday to try it out! The cafe specialises in Turkish dishes. It seems perfectly situated for guests from the Sun Elite apartments and several families arrived for lunch while we were there. The six of us tried as many dishes as possible (!) & we enjoyed the stuffed vine leaves, the nice choice of mezze (especially the green bean and warm patlican salads), freshly prepared chicken salads, shish kebab, fish cakes, & pasta. Very tasty food, very reasonably priced for lunch (big salads 8- 10 TRY) & a very convenient spot for town! Try it - it got a big 'thumbs up' from the Turkish folks I had lunch with! :-)
