A message to anyone who whinges about having to queue for five minutes before handing over a tenner at Dalaman airport: I have just printed off forms for a Turkish friend who wants to come to the UK . . . 10 pages filled with questions about your bank balance, employment record, requests for a day by day itinerary . . .  everything from your inside leg measurement to the name of your granny's dentist's dog. and it costs a heck of a lot more than a tenner . . . so think on.
