Bus - Antalya to Kalkan
« on: October 29, 2010, 08:18:24 AM »
Thanks to Aegean Flights cancelling my flight on 31st December to Dalaman last night I've had to re-book with Thomas Cook from East Midlands to Antalya.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much the bus is from Antalya to Kalkan? I'm considering taking the bus rather than paying for a transfer if it is considerably cheaper?

Thanks,
Ashley.

I believe the taxi fare from the airport to the Otogar is around 40TL.
The other week I go the bus to Antalya. On the mountain route it was 15TL going to Antalya and 20TL coming back and took around 4 1/2 hours. A great scenic bus ride !

The Ulusoy bus costs 15TL but is only a minibus (Mercedes sprinter) and not very comfortable (so I've been told) and their timetable keeps changing. The Bati Antalya costs 20TL but is a small coach (free water provided) and quite comfortable, several stops on the way to get food and drink and stretch your legs. You can also get the 202 bus from the airport (Domestic Terminal) to the Otogar which costs 2.5TL pp as a cheaper alternative to a taxi. Bati Antalya takes the coastal route and takes approx 5 hrs, though it seemed quicker, Ulusoy bus takes the mountain route and takes about 4 hrs.
Either way is considerably cheaper than a private transfer, just depends how quick you need to get to Kalkan and how many are travelling. You also have to take into account what time your flight lands at Antalya as I beieve the last bus leaves there early evening.

Hope this helps.
