Kalkan - 1 week September 2016
« on: September 18, 2016, 11:15:11 AM »
Just a brief note following our return home from a week in Kalkan, to give our thoughts on this season and the highs for us.
Restaurants - only having 7 days we couldn't really afford to go exploring and stuck with our old favourites and they didn't disappoint. We also had our vegan son to consider. Kosk was favourite (again) closely followed by Blue Marlin for the meze.
Bars - Kleo is back in it's original site and the guys there were brilliant as ever. We also enjoyed Botanik (although it seemed a bit dirty) and Fountain Cocktail Bar was excellent.
Beach Clubs - We went to Mahal twice and this was superb as ever, stretching the budget slightly but when you take a step back and consider where you are, the service you get and quality of the food, it's cheap.
Gulet - Sea Bella and SB Junior are the only choice for us having tried quite a few others over the years. Mehmet and his family raise the bar every year, providing a great day out, classic stops around the bay and superb food.
It was a shame to see Kalkan quiet although it livened in the last few days due to the Bayram festival.
We'll be back next year for another dose of heaven.

Thanks for posting. drpinner.
Kosk also serve cornbread which is brilliant for Coeliacs like me who have to stare wistfully whilst others tuck into the gorgeous puffy bread :'(
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)
