curtains
« on: July 26, 2008, 11:43:28 AM »
Hi,
Does anyone have contact details for a curtain maker. We require allot of them so price is an issue, have gone to the usual Kalkan shops but the prices are prohibitive. Would be prepared to travel outside of Kalkan,Kas,Fethiye etc.
Any and all leads would be appreciated.
Topic is about curtain makers, not the high prices in Kalkan, thanks.

I would not normally recommend any other solution than buying in Kalkan (always good to support local business I think) but why don''t you consider buying in the UK and bringing with you. With so many sales in the UK, there must be bargains to be had.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. We have some really weird size windows, so buying of the peg will be a bit hit and miss. But we have considered doing what you suggest. ( will be going back in 2 months to collect and bring vehicle here for 6 months).

Have seen some cracking bargains for top quality grade curtain material on eBay, but would still require the curtains to be made.

I know of a really good store in Fethiye where I can get all the curtain hardware from.

Hi Jav and Marie, if you look back on the shopping thread (page 3), I am sure there were a couple of other posts about curtains, I remember someone recomending somebody up near the market.

Absolutely Jav, measure your windows, get them too big and not too small when you go back to England, then just pay the tailor to have them altered if you have to. Or buy them in Fethiye

Hi,
There is a very good curtain shop in Kinik, small family run business, husband speaks good english, his name is Ozgur, they will also do alterations. I was recommended by a Turkish friend, worth giving them a go better prices than Kalkan.
Yes I always shopped in Kalkan but recently I have found a more competitive prices elsewhere. Sorry we all have to look after our pennies today.
best regards
T

Sorry Marie,

Why don''t you go to Kinik on a Friday it''s market day you can check out the shop at the same time.
Good luck hope you find what you''re looking for
