60% price hike in kitchen price!,

Has anyone had dealings with Kanaat kitchen renovation (just up the road from Carrefour). We got a quote for a new kitchen in April for 28,000tl to be installed this September. On my return last week this price had jumped to 46,000tl - a massive 64% increase. There was some lame excuse about paying more for some foreign parts but 64% increase - come on.

I feel that they are increasing prices NOT in line with Turkish inflation but with the exchange rate. A similar thing has happened to metal sunloungers (at a different shop in Kalkan) they were 550tl in April (£100) and surprise surprise now they are 850tl (just over £100).

Anyway any thoughts on this or any experiences with Kanaat good or bad much appreciated.

It seems this happening on almost everything now. We live here but have just returned after several weeks break away in the UK.  Don't know about Kanaat but others are doing the same it seems.

Prior to going away in July we had cleaners in due to a mobility problem,  asked that they come back in just before we returned, guess what the price had gone up 50 lire to 200tl. We went to pay our transfer driver in TL as usual  as we live here we obviously pay TL oh no he insisted we pay in £sterling. Just a couple of small examples.

Plenty of debate about this on FB friends of Kalkan. Lots of people cashing in on weak currency. Problem is everyone says how cheap everything is compared to UK so it’s not going to go away.
