May I suggest that to keep your non-swimming young child safe on the beach, you put him in a sunproof outfit and a sunhat that covers his neck, slather him in factor 50, put him in a life-jacket and tether him? Oh yes, and give him water regularly.  ;D

To be perfectly honest - I don''t think there is a beach in the world safe enough for a non swimming baby/toddler.  All the beaches in and around Kalkan and the beach clubs are either deep, or deep shelving or as are their nature - fairly rough with waves - so I would suggest you keep a very close eye and ensure s/he wears a proper life jacket/buoyancy aid!

Cheers!

my daughter has grown up on kalkan beach, definately the best place for young children. for young kids keep to the end near to the kleo bar, access is easier, it shelves more gently and you are near to the toilets!

Palm Beach club has a little area reserved for families with young children where you can walk into the sea....with jelly shoes of course as it''s quite stoney. There are a few sunbeds and parasols there, plus you have the facilities of the rest of the club - which is wonderful.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

There''s always the sandy Patara Beach which is good for children provided they are supervised and covered. We took a small pop up tent withour grandchild when he was younger.
