Villa payment
« on: June 05, 2012, 10:57:38 AM »
Hi, new to forum questions and wonder if someone could advise me. I need to pay the balance on my villa rental but not sure how to do this in a safe, easy and cost effective way.  I somehow left off the transfer fee for the deposit when using paypal!  Thank you.

If you and your villa owners are both based in the UK, direct bank transfer is the safest way and free (well it is in my bank :-\). If your owners are based outside the UK, this will incur a bank charge. We have transferred to a Turkish bank account and the cost for this is £25.
In the past I have transferred the balance onto a credit card and paid with a credit card cheque (there is no charge for this if you are in credit to the full amount and have zero balance on the account) and you are covered if something goes wrong.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Thank you.  I should have said the transfer is from UK to Turkey. The paypal deposit didn't include the transfer fee and I can't seem to figure out how much it.  May have to resort to a higher bank transfer fee.

Paypal is now charging 4%.  It comes to a lot if your balance of payment is high that's why we don't accept it unless the renter wants to pay the extra 4% - most don't.

as far as I can recall the transfer fee to Turkey was a flat rate of £25 and not a percentage of the amount being transferred.
