I agree with Kalkan wife we hired a car for a week and a jeep for a week two weeks ago with Yilmaz from Central car hire had a fantastic deal including a driver for the transfers, couldn''t do enough for us, really helpful friendly guy would definitely use him again without a doubt. As for the driving out there my husband had no trouble at all although you do need your wits about you especially at roundabouts and traffic lights as some of the drivers there tend to aim the car rather than drive it and you have to watch the scooter riders especially as they seem to have rules of their own. If you take it easy then you should have no trouble. We went up into the mountains quite a bit and you hardly saw a car. I would say to make sure you have the full insurance including damage to windscreen etc but if you hire a car with Yilmaz everything is included so you can drive around with peace of mind. We would definitely hire in Kalkan next time as the scenery you get to see is breathtaking and you have the freedom to come and go as you please.

"After getting some confidence we drove to Olympos (about 21/2 hours) and then drove to Adrasan and stayed the night, this is a great find just a beautiful bay with beach side restaurants and pensions with the sort of prices that Kalkan used to charge 70ytl for b+b for 2 people."

Am intrigued by this trip undertaken by "The Engineer" realise this post was back in June but was wondering how easy this would be to do in August.  Would I have to book a room for an overnight stay before setting off or could we do it on the off chance?

Any suggestions / ideas welcome - Thanks

Does anyone have contact details for Central car?
We've already booked transfers with Enes for October, but this might be a better deal for when we return next May
thanks
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Hi IssyG,
I would think the trip would be fairly easy any time of year cause the coast road is so good and there were plenty of places we could have stopped off for drinks and lunch ect. There were about 30 pensions with several rooms each around the beach at Adrasan and in June there was hardly anyone around. I like the idea of just turning up and finding a place to stay then you can see what you're getting.
