Could be good news as the last food that I had with them wasn''t exactly cordon bleu  ::)

yes Onur air stopped serving  free food as from jan this year - but you can buy snacks and drinks and the sandwiches are very tasty and not too expensive! :)

Hi
I am sure if you do a search you''ll find loads on Onur Air flights! Some people love them some hate them. Personally I would not really want to ever fly with them again...but this is just my opinion.

The best and most amusing thing I read about them on a forum was a guy who said he felt safer flying night bombing raids over Dresden than flying with Onur Air......

I do worry about these Onur Air threads that appear from time to time on the forum as we booked with Aegean last year for June 08 as they were ridiculously cheap.  Members seem divided on the subject - I''m not bothered about food or entertainment, but surprisingly enough, I am bothered about safety :o. Please post whatever safety issues have been muted about Onur as an internet search hasn''t revealed anything untoward.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

flown with onur air many times and no problems other than the awful food! looks like i''m spared that experience this time as booked again for July and no food included. Read a few scare stories but to be honest nothing that causes me any concern. Got to trust the authorities that an airline flying to and from this country is safe. Well hope so ;D

I agree, they are fine, and cheaper than other airlines.  The only complaint I would have is the food and now you have the choice to purchase snacks, so even better. One good thing is the air conditioning on Onur Air isn''t freezing like the British charters. Im flying out to Kalkan with Thomas Cook 2moro and im thinking I dont want to take an extra layer of clothing for the plane!!  As for the scare stories about Onur Air, I do not think it is useful posting scare stories when some people might be nervous flyers.  :)

Hi
I was on an OnurAir flight when one of their latest ''scare stories'' happened, so I can confirm that it is not all gossip. However as I think people have the right to fly with whoever they like, I do not rant on about my experiences. People who are nervous flyers have the same right to information as anyone else and can can choose whether to read and believe posts as the think fit.  Rant over!

Hello everyone, and happy birthday to EK

I''m a nervous flyer and as such I like to keep myself fully informed.

Here is some useful info from Wikipedia about Onur Air. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onur_Air

Their latest mishap was four days ago, and although there has not yet been a catastrophic incident I can ''safely'' say that I''d rather drive it than fly with them!

Another snippet from PPRuNe http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=325274

Good luck to all their passengers ;D

There''s definitely no food.  Don''t really know about their safety record but without exception they were the most sullen crew I''ve ever come across.  They also don''t appear to have any concept of what the time is.  Both in-going and out-going flights were over an hour late - with obviously not a word of apology, or even a word at all.  I hope I never fly with them again . . . .

We flew with Onur Air and they were fine. Better than Pegasus Airways today. We have just got home after an 8 hour delay but they did take us to a hotel for a few hours.

I have paid MUCH less on Thomas Cook and Easyjet than I have with Onur Air so I hardly think that''s an argument Blackpool!  I have flown with Onur Air more times than I can count and have never had a problem.  The only ''scare'' I have ever had was on another airline which I shall not mention as I don''t think it''s necessary.

I don''t think you would stop driving a BMW just because you had an accident in one.

I agree, Shirley. The only time I had a scare was not with Onur. OK they''re not the friendliest cabin crew and the food wasn''t fab but they get you there!
