Bus Travel
« on: March 03, 2010, 03:05:52 AM »
Does anyone know is there is a bus that goes from Marmaris to Kalkan.  We need to do this journey in august and have been quoted £140 as a private transfer (ouch).  also how long is it likely to take and any ideas on cost

Fairly certain there is a bus from Marmaris to Fethiye and then change for Kalkan. I think there's a recent thread about this and times and costs. Try searching the site and sure you'll find it. If not here then maybe was on (dare I say it) Trip Advisor ::)

Think you can also get a boat from Fethiye to Marmaris ???
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

The Midi-buses run fairly frequently from Marmaris to Fethiye, every hour or so through the day. The last bus from Fethiye to Kalkan was 18.30 last year (and for donkeys years before) so, will probably be the same this year.

There is no direct bus for this route. You can take the bus from Marmaris to Fethiye as there are regular buses on that route. Once in Fethiye you should take the bus to Kalkan. The journey should take about 3 hours and charges are comparatively less than air travel.
