Yali Hotel
« on: July 25, 2012, 10:59:30 PM »
I notice that the Yali Hotel has undergone its long awaited refurbishment and have looked in all the usual places for details but cannot find it being marketed by anyone. Is it still owned by Aslan along with the Asfiya and Likya? I'm just looking out of interest as I have stayed there several times before it began to get a little tired and run down. Can anyone let me know?

Just followed the link above  and looked at their rates, £1500.00 a for a  week in August seems very reasonable when Anatolian Sky have just emailed me with an offer of a week at the Asfyia in  Aug from Manchester for only £530.00!
Who on earth is going to pay those prices for B&B?
You know who really gives kids a bad name? Posh and Becks

kele,

this is not price comparison topic. If you have any idea what is quality you would understand what I mean.
Anyway Likya Gardens Hotel nearly full booked for this year, you don't need to worry about who on this earth is going to pay for quality.

Just Kalkan

I don’t think the original post referred in any way to quality issues? All they wanted to know was the Yali’s current status.  I’m so pleased you took the time to put me firmly in my place.

Thank you, I guess I should feel lucky that I got to stay in such an idyllic location when it was within my budget! I wish them well but couldn't help but notice the private bathing shelters were pretty much all empty for the last two weeks. I spotted lots of couples eating their breakfasts on their private balconies too and wondered how they ever get to meet anyone else in the hotel if not at breakfast. I guess I just enjoy the people watching and socialising too much to be isolated in my ivory tower!!!!

Yes I agree maybe a bit too elitist  ::) ::) but then we all have different levels of enjoyment of social interaction.  :D :D Actually breakfast is not my best time for socialising.  :-\ Think dark sunglasses, reading the paper or latest book, sneaking around trying not to be noticed going for the toast/egg/olives/BACON?  :o :o :o and then there's the tea/coffee moment.  Hate tea without fresh milk, hate coffee period, love sage or mint tea but not often available (except at Mahal) in Kalkan (anyone found them anywhere else??? If so, do tell) You can't really ask for an Efes or white wine yet  :o :o :o Then there's the fruit juice moment. Is it real fruit juice or fruit juice DRINK?   ??? ??? ???.   Do they have grapefruit or is that orange?  They hardly ever have tomato - my favourite, so I rarely have any.
Overall, I prefer my breakfast at the villa, away from peering eyes.   SX  ;D ;D ;D

Lol! That made me chuckle! My socialising at breakfast is purely observing from behind my sunglasses.........interesting nonetheless!

Love to potter around in my pj's watching Kalkan gradually wake up with a nice freshly squeezed orange juice and strong black coffee -  probably not a look for a hotel!  Whilst I definitely appreciate quality that seems very ambitious /pricey to me.
