Villa Azura sleeps 8/9 & is a new contemporary, spacious, luxury 4 bedroom (all en-suite) villa approximately 300 meters from the sea and is a 5 minute walk to beach clubs. All rooms have travertine/marble floors & air-conditioning. 2 bedrooms with sea & mountain views have private balconies. Wifi internet connection, Flat Screen 32'' TV DVD/CD 5.1 surround sound. Private pool. Fully equipped modern kitchen. The villa offers stunning, uninterrupted views over Kalamar Bay & the Taurus mountains. 15/20 minute walk from Kalkan where there are harbourside & roof terrace restaurants & shops. All bedrooms & living areas have air conditioning & 2 bedrooms have low noise level fans & separate dressing rooms. Mosquito repellent plugs provided. On arrival we supply a complimentary welcome hamper & information file, containing emergency numbers & general information about your stay. Please note: the pool is not fenced off & has no shallow end (it is 6 m by 3.5 m and 1.6 m deep), not suitable for very young children. We can help with airport transfers to and from the airport through an agent.

Area description

The sea is less than a 5 minute walk, where you can find Kalamar Beach Club which offers watersports including scuba diving. Kalkan Town is 5 mins by car or a 20 minute walk and has a beautiful harbour with a marina and beach. The 18km Patara Beach (voted best beach in the world by The Sunday Times) is a 15 mins drive away, Kaputas Beach is a 10 mins drive. Both beaches plus the local town of Kas can also be reached by local bus.

Kalkan, described as Turkey's best kept secret, is a small, sophisticated resort set on the Turkish Mediterranean Riviera. The town nestles on the foot of the Taurus mountains and was once a small fishing village, it is now a charming holiday resort consisting of colourful cobbled streets, white washed houses, interesting shops and harbourside restaurants. It provides all the necessary amenities. There are supermarkets, a post office, banks with ATM machines, a medical centre, chemists, dentists, internet cafes, and a wide assortment of shops selling everything from Turkish rugs, traditional clothes, jewellery, souvenirs etc, to modern boutiques and leather shops. There is a market every Thursday which sells all sorts of local produce, teas, spices, pottery. One of our favourite things to do is charter one of the boats in the harbour and enjoy a day cruising around the bay, swimming and snorkeling off the boat and sampling a delicious lunch on board. If you choose not to hire a car, local agents can arrange trips to the many archaeological sites including Kekova, Saklikent Gorge, Xanthos, Letoon, and many more, all close to Kalkan. There are also many local buses and taxis. Kalkan village really becomes quite magical at night with many restaurants for you to choose, from simple to the sophisticated. It caters for all tastes from traditional Turkish, to International cuisine; many restaurants with roof terraces overlooking Kalkan bay.

Required stay

Changeover day is usually Monday or Friday but we try to be flexible if possible. However, we require guests to vacate the villa by 12 noon on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed. Check in time is 16:00 hours unless otherwise agreed.

Deposits

£200 deposit to secure booking. £300 damages deposit (refundable)

Other fees

On confirmation of the booking there is a £200 deposit (non refundable). The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival together with a £300 deposit against damage. This will be refunded in full within 2 weeks of your return, provided there have been no losses/serious damage or breakages. (This excludes normal wear and tear.)

Other policies

No smoking in the villa.

Our villa is situated in a quiet residential area consisting of approximately 50/50 rental homes/residents.  It is a condition of the rental that you should be considerate in your behaviour and keep noise levels to a reasonable level so as not to disturb our neighbours. Anyone renting the property is responsible for his/her own insurance and we as the owners do not accept any responsibility for accidents or injuries incurred either in or around the properties. Misuse of air-conditioning units will incur an extra cost that will be deducted from the deposit and I agree to the owner making this deduction.  (There will be further information on this in the Villa Azura information pack to be read upon your arrival)
