I made good friends with Ali and ercan Oz.  The brothers own Egemen 1 and 2.  I don't know if the egemen boats are still afloat as I haven't been back since 2003.  A great day out if you like snorkeling.  I would often troll a line off the back of the boat and catch a few predatory fish.  The wife caught a swordfish back in 92.

On our first visit to kalkan bay we came across a huge shoal of Tuna.  It must have been a mile wide circle of them.  It was really awe inspiring.  In the same week we swam with a pod of bottlenose dolphins between kalkan bay and Mouse island.  they stayed with us for at least half an hour, it was magical.  I think we were very lucky because any dolphins we've seen since tend to be a bit shy.

Tho Bwian, your father wath a wo man?

Here's a line I never thought I would write - I agree with the Daily Express article ..... which recommends Captain Abdi on Pina-X - lovely boat, great food and even better Facebook profile picture!

Been on the Falcon today. Great food, great company and reasonably priced drinks. Then back to our villa on the dolmus to save walking up the hill.

Andy and I prebooked a day trip on yildiz 2 over the intnet on advice of several people from this forum and had the most marvellous day with eight others (including Lovely Lucy and Steve from Newcastle who were on this site before they went too). it was fantastic...Osman and his wife Zainep were freindly and charming and Zainep's cooking was wonderful, particularly the chicken stew...I also heard great things about the peach slices...which were unfortunately all gobbled up before i got to them.....you know who you are!!! >:()

On our last evening Andy had arranged the choice of venue amid much mystery...telling me he had arranged for me to be fed a spoonful of meze from every restaurant I had promised the front of house guy we would go to tomorrow!!! (i found it easier to say this than refuse their kind invitations to eat!)
He called this the 'meze mile' and was so convincing i believed him, especially after starting down the Kalamar road and having my photo taken with every waiter we had  become friends with....imagine my surprise when we stopped at the harbour to 'say goodbye' to Osman (of yildiz 2) who was not yet back from the days trip (at 5.30+ this guy does a full day, first out last back!!) to be met by Osmans brother Adem and his wife and smallest son, Mehmet who were waiting for us to board for a private moonlight cruise!!!
as last nights go...Stunning all round, trip, views (Kalkan illuminated at night from the sea is spectacular) food....

so thank you to my darling, (suprisingly romantic), devious husband for a perfect last night! xxx
