Am getting small taxi minibus (local Kalkan co) from Dalaman airport 10pm in mid July am hoping new road is open so perhaps arrive in Kalkan before 1130pm what would be my options for doing food shopping en route, perhaps getting the taxi to stop for five minutes. Want to get the heavy items and essentials as am staying in the old town so wont have a car.Arriving on a Wednesday so i know i can get fruit and veg at the market on Thursday. Can i do a supermarket dash en route somewhere or in Kalkan area late at night.
Am new to the forum but have been voyeuristically viewing for a while -particularly like the Feds posts and photos!

At the top of village by the old school/taxi rank  there is an all night market..only small but sells essentials(it's in the parade of shops ) one option would be just to get some bits you need for that night then go to one of the bigger markets next day.... Sevil/Yali /Adda /tesko,and buy your stuff and get it delivered they will do this for you ;)
People of Britain!!......CHEESE!!...why do cheese packets say things like  "aged for 20 years".....yet tell me to eat within 3 days of opening....PAH! and double PAH!

I would be amazed if several of the supermarkets are not open and doing business in what is mid season. Last year in late September, we came back from Cesme after midnight to find most of the shops open and busy. Even the small Tesko on Kalamar road is open until midnight, sometimes later.

We arrived at a very similar time in October last year and asked our driver to stop enroute, only to find the "service station" supermarkets were very limited. Our driver then took us to Yali supermarket in Kalkan, which was still open, in late season, coming up to midnight. We got all our essential bits and pieces for overnight and breakfast in the morning. if you're delayed at all, I think Smile supermarket is open 24 hours in high season. We are back in May on exactly the same easyJet flight, so we'll forgo the stop enroute and head straight to Yali - if you wanted to you could do a full supermarket sweep!
Madness takes its toll.....make sure you have the exact change!
