Planning another trip to Kalkan and looking at the Samira Hotel this time, one-bedroom, self-catering. Have had quotes from Late Great Deals (Travel Republic) and directly from the hotel and can't believe the discrepancy in prices.

LGD quotes Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£187 for 2 weeks commencing 28 May but the hotel itself quotes Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£600!

Just wondering, has anybody stopped here using the apartments? Are there different standards of apartments to explain the discrepancy in prices?

Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£187 for 2 weeks, one of which is half term sounds too good to be true. Probably cheape than flight only.

Ive stayed at the Samira a few times,not much difference in 1 bed apts,but they have 3 bed apts at the back of the hotel which are very nice,I used to get these for Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£80 a week in may with T/C, the Samira wanted Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£500 a week for june,Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£187 is good for 2 weeks,but that cant be with a flight as well,can it ?

The price is for the apartment only. The total price with fkights is just short of Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1,300, which I don't think is bad for four people.

We've gone for it. Hotel sourced from Holidays4U.com and the flight is from Leeds/Bradford with Jet2. Think this is a good deal -Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1300 for two adults and two kids during Spring Bank school holidays.

Hi Popps
May I suggest that you contact The Samira about a week before your departure to check that they actually have your booking. We booked to stay at The Samira in August 2008 through Travel Republic and when we arrived were told they didn't have a booking for us, even though we had all the paperwork proving our reservation. After spending 3 hours in the hotel reception and nearly Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£40 on phone calls back to the UK and to the booking agency that Travel Republic use in Turkey we were eventually given a room. It was just a bit of a bad start to what was yet another wonderful holiday in beautiful Kalkan.

Hi, Clooneyrooney,

Thanks for the advice. I've been in touch with the owner before I made this booking but his price was far greater than what I could find with TR. I'll give him another e-mail and check that the booking has actually gone through. I've used TR before and not had any problems (touching wood).
